HiL Test Engineer – Functional Safety & OBD II

The HiL Test Engineer is responsible for the execution, analysis, and documentation of hardware-in-the-loop testing activities with a focus on Functional Safety (FuSi) and OBD II validation. The role requires a strong hands-on testing mindset, solid analytical capabilities, and confidence in working with vehicle functions, HiL environments, measurement data, and technical function documentation. Execution of HiL-based validation and verification activities for Functional Safety and OBD II related functions Creation, adaptation, and execution of test cases and test scenarios Analysis and evaluation of test results, deviations, and system behavior Systematic root-cause and failure analysis based on function documentation, signals, measurement data, and system behavior Use of MATLAB for data analysis, evaluation, and troubleshooting Measurement, calibration, and analysis activities using ETAS INCA Use of Python for test support, data processing, analysis, and automation of recurring activities Documentation of test results, defects, and technical findings Collaboration with function developers, test engineers, and relevant stakeholders Support of testing activities requiring a basic understanding of vehicle and motorcycle operation Proofen good skill set in HiL systems, test environments, and HiL architectures good experience in HiL testing, including test case creation, execution, and result analysis Very good MATLAB skills, particularly for analysis and troubleshooting Confident use of ETAS INCA on daily basis Good practical Python skills for scripting, data evaluation, and test automation Strong analytical skills and ability to perform failure analysis based on technical and functional documentation Basic technical understanding of vehicle/motorcycle operation and vehicle functions Structured, quality-oriented, and independent working approach Nice-to-have-Skills Previous experience with BMW-specific development and testing tools Experience in the BMW or BMW Motorrad development environment Knowledge of Functional Safety / ISO 26262 and/or OBD II is advantageous Automotive or motorcycle ECU testing experience ALTEN MAROC, Filiale du leader mondial de l’ingénierie et du conseil en technologie créé en 2008 et présent à Fès, Rabat, Tétouan et Casablanca, compte aujourd’hui plus de 2200 collaborateurs et vise un centre d’excellence de 3300 ALTENiens en fin 2027.
